THE LUNCH BOX

today Isaac along with his class is on an all day field trip...therefore a lunch was packed. He was so excited getting it all line up last night, food ready that could safely be done ahead, cooler set out.....when he said, "I should use the lunch box like Grandpa took to work. The other kids might think its kinda weird but...."
(he took the uncreative look-a-like blue igloo) Dad's lunch pail....went to work with him for 10 years, 3-midnight, that lunch box sustained him, as he worked at the feed mill in Cherokee. A chore of mine (probably the other kids too) was to make that lunch, it was always the same, 3 cheese sandwiches, jar of fruit sauce, a thermos of _____ (do not remember what now) and cookies...
.....when it came home it would only have a few crumbs and a cookie left for the dog eagerly waiting Dad's return.
thanks, Ikie, for the trip down memory lane

Yes, and remeber we would stop at Walnut Grove on Monday nights to see Dad and of course go through his lunch pail and it was empty:(
