SLEEPING

Yesterday was hard, but normal for the elderly & probably no need for alarm. Mom phoned me at work, (so hard to talk & deal with the situation when I am at school but the teacher I am with are wonderful but it put me on an emotional roller coaster). "Dad is not responding" her message and she like a small child did not know what to do...so happy that she called though. I talked with the nurse and he was given something in the night but there was no nurse's note to why & the behavior so...........(major no-no not to document this but I am ok with that but for further times please do chart...this is my dad). Anyway he was pretty much not responding....Ike and I went after work there he laid in bed in a deep slumber with a melting ice cream cone on the night stand that mom brought in for him. Mom not really realizing it melting all over.....She was doing what she knew, make daddy something to eat...but...IT IS HARD.

Today 6:40am; talked to the night nurse, Dad slept all night, nurse said "just a minute I'll walk down and peek in on him"......I hear ..."Rose, Rose"..... I laugh and said to the nurse, "he is awake!"..."you could hear that?"....."Yep, I know my dad"...smile
