GROUNDHOG DAY
Isaac told me the groundhog saw his shadow, 6 more weeks of winter...can we handle that??

Ground Hog Day activity, there is prizes for those who found a Ground Hog...the activity department at this home is just wonderful....and creative.
I visited Country View Manor....dad was sitting in the doorway of his room..I asked him where he wanted to go and he tells me"Holland!" we go into the their room, mom is sleeping so he whistle at her to wake his bride!!!...I asked him who I am, dad said, "Fredrika"!!!
This a book that was given to me by a dear lady that has gone through what I am now with my parents...it is hard to make choices for those who once did for me. This book is awesome to give an in site of an Alzheimer's feelings, thinking and coping mechanism. Therefore dad truly knows who I am but just could not retrieve my name, not fair of me to ask but he lite right up when he heard Brant's name and said "I know who that is" & I just wanted to known too... the sibling rivalry marches on, ;-) Fun to see his sense of humor and being pleasant
Mom seem more content and likes the activities although frets about the farm and cost of the nursing home, reassure them that we are taking care of it all and that Syd check's everything thoroughly....but it is hard to let go when you have been responsible and now others take over what was yours.
oops, Dad found my Habit!!!????

Gma and Gpa look so good. I am glad that they seem to be more content in their new "home". Please give them a big hug from the Carlson Clan the next time you are there.
I just watched "The Notebook" again this week... it had been awhile. Made me want to read the book again, too.
So tough to watch your parents go through this, I'm sure. It must be reassuring to know they are well cared for there and close enough that you can check in.
