All this was picked in one day....the shed was empty that morning and by dark that night this is what our wonderful help got accomplished. 57 bins of pumpkins total for the day plus the squash.
Every year we do this, weather is going to change, usually it is going to freeze and alot of the produce will be ruined after that but this day, the forecast is for rain and alot the next several days. The field will be to hard work in with all the mud. So this day there was picking from 7am until too dark that night about 7:30pm. Not all the same people but some did go home for a short time and then came back. We really appreciate every one helping. Yes, it did start to rain just few hours later and not really stopped. The gravel roads are very soft so just image the fields are horrible. Crop farmers got a great start Monday thru Wednesday but they too will be at a stand still for a while. We have quite a bit in the yard to continue trucking for a while.
