the dear daughter away at college,

This is Maggie the kitty she is a lap cat that has been living with Phyllis in the nursing home. She is fixed, well behaved and social. Phyllis passed away yesterday at the age of 99. If you would love and want Maggie, let me know.

Do

"don't you feel bad, isn't she pretty, you know you want one..." 

so on and so forth,

"here you talk to dad" dad listens,

 and hands me the phone back while grumbling/mumbling but............

doesn't tell her "no"

Well dear, Laura, the answer is "no"......
