PAINTING BLACK

.....has been a real challenge for me.

I have been wanting to get the look like purchase furniture but....

So ready to give up....

but think I almost got it!

.....the doors were painted first with white.

Then the letters are done using the CRICUT, contact plastic, after positioning the letters, paint over with the base cost to seal-up the edges, let dry (thats the hard part for me, letting paint dry properly!!) then cover with the top coat, (a few light coatings are best) let dry again. Remove the contact plastic to reveal almost perfect lettering! Lightly sand and distress.....I am using flat black so finished up with MINSWAX wax and buffed. I almost like it....I do think I will try eggshell finish next time as the flat is too flat and eggshell may be better for my next project a waiting! I have been surfing the net for tutorials, ideas and inspiration....to achieve the look....I know, by the time I get "theLOOK" theLOOK will be something else all together! Ah well, I always been a bit behind times!
