Mom has been busy with family, cards, and convention but now reality is setting in....alone, without her husband of 59 plus years......One month has passed but this will not lessen the grieving, studing the grieving process as a nurse we learned that the loss of a spouse is so much greater for those who have been married longer, I now see this and it hurts to see Mom's quiet sadness........
(this was left on Dad's bed after he died by the nursing home, another small touch of CVM's kindess)
No, we would not bring Dad back,
he lived a faithful & good life,
it is ok to say we miss him,
but happy that Dad is no longer prisoned in a failing body & mind.

Joy and sorrow
Thinking of your family....give your Mom a hug from me!
think of Mom often and Dad too...
Oh my, that is SO hard. I can hardly stand seeing my Grandma so alone . . . at the visitation she was looking at Grandpa, lying there, and said "I just want to crawl in there with him." That hurts more than losing Grandpa.
That is a precious picture
So many years of marriage....so much love.....so many memories....Even though we know Gpa went on to something so much greater it is hard to think of Gma as so alone.
It would be nice to love Grandma enough to make the void go away...
what a special photo......it must be terrible lonesome for your mother, but so nice they had so many wonderful years together........hugs to you....
