GOLDEN YEARS

WILLOW CREEK PLACE
is a new place in LeMars and hopefully a new home for our parents.
Mom and Dad are really becoming old. Dad has confusion and having a real hard time with his legs. Mom is becoming more forgetful and mixing things up. Yesterday, my brother brought them to visit our family. Dad is very quiet, more so than usual and when he does talk is difficult to understand. Mom made the plans to come up and told me they would come after their meeting and have lunch on the way. We went to our mtg and then out for our usual pizza...thinking there was plenty of time before they would get there. Well we were basicly done when my brother called and said they were at our house. Mom apparently forgot what she told me and they came directly from home. I would have have been happy to make them all a Sunday dinner, so a sandwich lunch was what they got.
This is not what you can call the GOLDEN YEARS.
My dad, 89 years old, waiting to go home. My brother is in the house helping my kids with something on the computer, my parents decided it time to go so here they wait.... I was going to get pictures with the kids but...............you get the drift. My mom, 88 years old, holding a note to remind them of an appointment.

I hope everything goes smoothly with the move for Gerrit and Rosa. It's sad to see them failing so but they do so need more help than they can get out there on the farm! It's great that they have kids that can support and encourage them, kind of get them through this transition.

We just went through this with Rich's grandparents...they are all moved in to their partially assisted living place in S.C. with only a few minor bumps. Good luck! If you need any help with the moving or whatever, just let us know!
