When I was a little girl the neighbors of my grandparents had this huge weeping willow tree that they would trim it like hair..............fast forward many years to our own acreage. Three years ago we bought a willow (not a true weeping willow but a willow). I planted it so we could see it from the kitchen window, watch it grow, in the winter when heavy wth ice I would knock ice off the branches. You see I have visions of my future grandkids swinging from a tire swing hung in its branches. Well this summer copious amounts of rain must make the branches very heavy and the fast growing tree the tree branches not sturdy. A few weeks ago a large branch broke off and two days ago we lost another branch. It is looking like my tree is not going to have much of a future. As I write this we are getting heavy rain, hail and tornados north of here.
The sky let loose as soon as I took these pictures. Hoping there is not much hail damage to the crops. Kids pretty excited to see the hail, something new for them to see. They don't understand the damage it can cause.
